Anna is an artist, interior stylist and creative director and is able to offer her clients a full suite of services from vision and concept development through to direction and creation.
As a freelance stylist Anna uses her talent for aesthetic arrangement, working for a number of leading New Zealand homeware brands and on professional advertising campaigns. She has carved a niche for herself as being able to expertly realise the visual manifestation of an idea.
Anna loves the challenge of taking on individual and varied briefs. She can work to a client’s existing brief or become involved earlier in the creative process working alongside the brand’s creative team.
Anna has also taken her abilities one step further and created works of art now available from galleries throughout the country. She says of her art; “It has been a discovery. In my work for clients I start with a brief – sometimes only a rough idea – but there are parameters to work to. However, when I’m not in a commercial environment, I can take full ownership of an idea. In doing this, the work is somehow laid more bare for all to see and evaluate. It can be unnerving, but when I look at the finished product it is immensely satisfying.” Anna’s artwork explores culture and history through sculptural assemblage. She takes iconic objects and composes iconic images; vintage serviceware, Crown Lynn ceramics, a Jackie Howe singlet and more are expertly arranged to resemble other forms and become unique artworks.
As one of the founding directors of WAS: a unique business concept which upcycles billboard vinyl into fashion bags, Anna has established a reputation for herself as an entrepreneur as well. She has also implemented many product design initiatives for home textile companies such as Linens & More and Gorgi New Zealand. Anna enjoys the challenge of more open editorial briefs and has established, alongside photographer Kevin Emirali, ‘Production Imagery’ which finds her sourcing and producing articles for interior magazines both in New Zealand and overseas.
